Last month we asked you to share your success stories and beauty secrets with us. The response was overwhelming, to say the least.
We listened to what you had to say and after reading every comment and secret you shared with us, we compiled this post from some of our favorites.
Erika S. told us that in addition to her Obagi skin care regimen, she takes a bath with baking soda to “exfoliate and soften skin.” Some people may have thought baking soda was just good for jellyfish stings and eliminating that awful smell in your fridge when you forget to cook the salmon you bought three weeks ago. But baking soda does in fact have some great healthy skin advantages.
Years ago, baking soda was one of the few products on the market for cleaning teeth and settling an upset stomach. However, today it’s not at all uncommon to add baking soda to warm bathwater for healthy skin benefits. Adding ½ cup to a full bath can have a softening effect on your skin, while adding 1 cup of baking soda and 1 ¼ cups of baby oil to your bath during the cold weather months can help relieve itchy winter skin.
It’s Not Smoke and Mirrors
Stephanie G. said that the key to a flawless complexion is to not smoke and drink plenty of water. She’s definitely on the right track.
Smoking can speed up the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. The nicotine in cigarettes narrows blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin, which impairs blood flow. With reduced blood flow, your skin doesn’t get as much oxygen and lacks important nutrients, such as vitamin A, that keep it looking healthy.1
As Stephanie points out, the best thing to do is simply quit smoking. Once you do, supplement your healthy new habit by drinking an adequate amount of water each day. Your skin, like all other organs in your body, is made of cells that require water; without water, these cells will not perform at their best, making your skin dry and flaky and more prone to wrinkles.2 Men should reach for approximately 13 glasses per day, while women should try to fill up their cup 9 times.3
What a Success!
While our Facebook news feed and blog comments were flooded with success stories about all of the Obagi product lines, we heard an overwhelming response about the Obagi Nu-Derm® Systems. Colleni C. said her results have been so amazing that she would recommend Obagi “without hesitation.”
Our best-selling skin care system, Obagi Nu-Derm, transforms the appearance of aging skin and includes everything your skin needs to look beautiful and healthy. But don’t just take our word for it—after all, this blog is about you! Emma B. shared her story, “I’ve been using Obagi for one year and I love it! I had dark spots on my face and I tried many products but nothing worked except for Obagi. I love Obagi!”
We’re honored to have had such an incredible response, but the buck doesn’t have to stop here. We would love for you to continue to share your success stories and beauty secrets with us because we love reading them. Share your thoughts in the comments below and remember, we hear you!
